What is the proper way to print & scan wedding invitations? Where do I put the card at on the printer? - invitation card format

I am helping my cousin with her wedding invitations. I-format, which you copy and paste the text into a blank card printed. When scanning the card will start to go wrong during printing. Need to do a better and less stress. Advice and please help me! Thank you very much!
